YOUR ROLE

The costing analysts plays a key strategic role within the organization by being the gate keeper of costing accuracy and completeness to ensure well informed business decisions. He/she is a finance professional that collaborates daily with multidisciplinary team members across the business to establish and maintain standardized practices, processes & controls around costing across all brands & channels. The costing analyst also provides monthly reporting on COGS variances, support on budget & forecast and performs analysis that supports business decision. This individual understands the direct cost drivers, financial systems/processes and is adept at working with all employee levels within the company.

  • Develop policies, procedures and processes around costing;
  • Promotes and initiates continuous improvements in order to improve organizational processes and generate superior business results;
  • Ensure strong governance on costing through internal controls and reporting;
  • Create internal control mapping on the different costing components;
  • Propose new or reinforced control measures when applicable;
  • Build financial reporting;
  • Coordinate and plan efforts required from different teams in the business;
  • Identify and assess potential business & financial impacts or risks associated with new ideas;
  • Maximize profitability through product cost savings initiatives factoring in impact from sourcing strategy shifts, duty landscape, macro-economic variables, payment terms, logistics models;
  • Participate in the development, enhancement and implementation of financial system or processes;
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate monthly financial reporting;
  • Coordinate reporting and perform detailed variance analysis of actual financial results versus budget, forecast, and key performance metrics at month-end;
  • Assist the FP&A Manager in coordinating all aspects of the budget and forecast processes for areas within the scope in terms of deadlines, reviews, targets, system uploads and variance analysis;
  • Supports colleagues during month-end processes;
  • Ensures Supply Chain costs are reasonably allocated to channels;
  • Initiates and performs monthly business reviews on year-to-date and current month results in order to provide visibility to the teams, facilitate financial projections and provide value added financial knowledge to areas within the Scope to ultimately increase business results;
  • Performs ad hoc financial simulations for projects, investments, cost reduction initiatives, etc.;
  • Assists in creating presentations for strategic leadership;
  • Performs monthly ELC internal audit & issue resolutions, if any, with the responsible stakeholders;
  • Ensure policies, procedure & processes put in place around costing are followed and understood by operational departments;
  • Ensure alignment between the different teams through regular and clear communication.

DO YOU HAVE THE PROFILE WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

  • University degree in Finance/Accounting or a professional designation (i.e. CPA, CFA, MBA);
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role;
  • Strong business acumen and well versed in Financial Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Intellectual curiosity, desire to understand and challenge our business and processes;
  • Understanding of performance variance analysis, accounting principles and financial reporting aspects;
  • Experience using SAP;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint ;
  • Bilingualism is required for this role.
